The Zone 1 CD includes the following Kansas Counties:
Cheyenne, Decatur, Gove, Logan, Rawlins, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas and Wallace.
Also included on the Zone 1 CD are plat maps of the following Kansas cities, towns, and villages:
Adell, Allison, Atwood, Bird City, Buffalo Park, Celia, Clayton, Cleversburgh, Colby, Ennis City, Eustis, Gove City, Grainfield, Grinnell, Hoxie, Kanona, Leonard, Ludell, Mystic, Norcatur, Oakley, Oberlin, Quinter, Sharon Springs, Sheridan, Sherman Center, Shibboleth, Voltair, Wallace and Wano.
City maps are often more detailed and include the names of many original property owners, businesses, municipal buildings, etc.
Please note: some small town and village map plans include street and lot detail only.
Each Atlas CD consists of a series of 8-10 bordering counties making up 1 of 12 Zones that depict all 106 Kansas counties. Each Zone Atlas contains high resolution scanned images of vintage 1887 county and city maps that are presented in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF).
Each CD includes the following 19th century cartographic features:
- roads
railroads and canals
- cities, towns, and villages
- post offices and government sites
- one-room schoolhouses, churches, and cemeteries
- rivers, streams, and ferries
- racetracks, fairgrounds, and picnic groves
- industrial sites, furnaces, and mills
- early homesteads and farms (occasional)

The Historic Atlas of Kansas series is an invaluable aid to Genealogists, Historians, and researchers in search of 19th century Kansas places.
The Adobe Acrobat Reader for MS Windows is needed to view, zoom, pan, and print from the PDF map images contained in this atlas; and is included free on each
CD.
No other software is necessary. The map data has been created and configured using Adobe Acrobat Reader (6.0) for MS
Windows (98, 98SE, XP, NT, and 2000). The maps may be viewed in earlier versions of the software as well, however.
